The damage from the two severe weather events has been substantial and our crews have worked through another night to restore power to affected areas. More crews are back out there again today, continuing efforts to reach the remaining customers still without power.
We have brought in crews from other areas not impacted by outages, to support those in the worst-hit areas as we continue to do everything we can to get people’s power restored as soon as possible. We are aware of some people’s frustrations and want to assure them we will get to them as quickly as we can.
We’ve been working closely with Auckland Emergency Management, whose response teams are door knocking in some of the worst affected areas today to check on those still impacted.
Thanks to significant progress made yesterday and overnight, we’re now down to the final group of affected customers and are aiming to reach as many as possible by the end of the day.
We understand how difficult this has been, and we really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as our teams work hard to get the lights back on.
