What kind of EV cars can charge at these chargers?
Any plug-in EV that has a CHAdeMO or CCS (type 2) DC fast charging port. Note that not all EV’s are capable of DC fast charging.

How do I use the charging station?
- Firstly park your EV with the charge socket within reach of the connector, and turn off the EV.
- Select the charging protocol on the touch screen – select 1 for CHAdeMO, or 2 for CCS.
- Connect the applicable charge connector to the EV’s charge socket.
- On the touchscreen, press start – the charger will begin charging the EV and will indicate the progress on the screen

- To stop charging, select stop on the touchscreen. Take the connector out of the EV and put it back in the connector holder on the charger.
When connecting or disconnecting DC connector:
- Handle cables and connectors with care;
- Do not drop the cables or connectors;
- Place them back in their respective holders.
What if there is an emergency?
- Push the emergency stop button – the charger stops the operation and displays a message
- Call 0508 VECTOR (0508 832 867).
What if the emergency stop button is accidentally pushed?
- Check that the situation is safe (i.e. that the emergency stop button was accidentally pushed)
- Turn the emergency button clockwise, and:
- The emergency button will release and the charger is reactivated;
- After a few seconds the message disappears from the screen and the charger will return to normal operation.
What should I do if a cable gets stuck?
This can happen occasionally. Here are some troubleshooting steps:
1. Plug the cable back in and resume charging.
2. Unlock the car.
3. For Rapid Chargers (ABB): Press Stop on the display, and then unplug the cable from the car.
4. Some Nissans have a cable-lock button on the lower right of the steering wheel – set it to the middle position.
How do I use the standard chargers?
Just like you use your EV charger at home. Plug it in and push the start button. Push the Stop button when you are done. There is also an emergency stop button.

How much does it cost to charge using a Vector EV charger?
For now, our chargers are free to use. However, for certain sites you may need to pay for the parking (such as Britomart). You are responsible for checking and paying any car parking charges.
Does Vector have other EV charging stations that I can use?

Can commercial vehicles use the EV chargers?
Yes, the EV chargers are designed for all road users.
Is there a time limit on parking at the chargers?
Yes. We have a time limit of 30 minutes for rapid chargers and 2 hours for standard chargers. However, some charger locations (e.g. malls) may impose their own time restrictions in addition to this. Please observe the time limits stated on the signage.
Cars are exceeding the parking limit, what can I do?
We do not regularly monitor the car parks, however we may take action if vehicles overstay. If you notice a vehicle overstaying the time limit, please let us know by contacting 0508 VECTOR or email us at info@vector.co.nz with the licence plate, location and time.
Do I need to bring cables when I charge?
Previously, all our standard EV chargers came with charging cables. However our move to Type 2 sockets on our standard chargers aligns them with Waka Kotahi’s recommendations and means you may now need to supply your own cable. While some of our chargers still have cables, it always pays to have your own in your vehicle.
What should I do if a cable gets stuck?

4. For Standard Chargers (Schneider): Press the red button on the side, then unplug the cable from the car.
5. For Standard Chargers (Evnex): While charging, unplug the cable from the car first, and then unplug from the Evnex Charger.
6. For Rapid Chargers (ABB): Press Stop on the display, and then unplug the cable from the car.
